Tom Tryon introduces panel debate - Herald Tribune Hot Topics A panel discussion - Dan Lobeck and Kindra Muntz speaking for Single Member District Voting, and Paul Caragiulo and Diana Hamilton speaking against - at Holley Hall, Oct. 4, 2018.
We'd like to thank Mr. Dan Lobeck for his informative talk he gave at our quarterly meeting on Wednesday, January 24th in which over 100 Nokomis residents attended. Mr. Lobeck provided attendees with a riveting summary of the changes to the Comprehensive Development Plan, a blueprint to guide development of land, economic growth and resource protection; adopted by Sarasota County in 2016. Mr. Lobeck cautioned that infrastructure and schools can be overlooked in the County's exuberance to develop that may ultimately lead to budget shortfalls and higher property taxes, versus the proper assessment of builder impact fees. Mr. Lobeck encouraged attendees to stay informed and participate in supporting smart growth for our community through groups like NACA. We have received such positive and favorable feedback on this event and want to thank everyone for attending!
